overall, it's terrible and painfully formulaic, but it is redeemed to an extent by the awesome scenes of the kids rollerblade racing down cincinnati's famous hills.

chicago, doesn't have an east "side" per se, like the other 3 cardinal directions, but it does have a community area named "east side" on the far SE side of the city, smooshed between the calumet river and the indiana border.
it was once a solidly white, blue collar neighborhood full of steel workers and their families, but today is now overwhelmingly latino.
there's also a suburb named "east chicago" just over the border in indiana. it's home to the giant indiana harbor steel mill.
