Is South Detroit supposed to be Windsor? Or Downriver?
Also, there probably hasn't been a "midnight (passenger) train" running through Detroit since the 60's.
And yeah, Robocop looks/feels nothing like Detroit. The beginning of Beverly Hills Cop, Gran Torino, Four Brothers (even though filmed elsewhere), Don't Breathe, 8 Mile, are more evocative. Also a lot of gritty 1970's-era films, including some good blaxploitation films. Detroit 9000, in particular, has tons of 1970's downtown Detroit scenes.
