Update: possible Schlitterbahn development in Cedar Park.

Seems like the Volente Beach guy "updates" the local press on fund-raising efforts once or twice a year. The outlook has recently turned positive.

Redmond set his eyes on a new city to house his water playground. Cedar Park expressed interest, so Redmond bought 60 acres of land off Parmer Lane, right between Interstate-35 and Highway 183.
The original plan would be built in four phases at a cost of $360 million. Redmond says that scared away investors when he and his son went searching in 2010.
"Now, things have started turning around,” Redmond said. “It looks like the venture guys and the investors are looking at wanting to do this park."
That could come with help from Cedar Park, but only after the new plans are in place.
Cedar Park Economic Development Director Phil Brewer hopes those new ideas will come soon.
"It will be a game changer for the community. One of our council goals and visions is to become a destination city,” he said. “This will certainly go a long way in making Cedar Park a destination city."
Brewer said the site could be as massive as the Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels.
