Yeah, the New York Times' system works better. They give you 10 free articles per month, the cost of which is slightly offset by online banner ads. After that you have to pay. It gives you a taste and lets you decide if you want more. With The Globe and Mail's immediate firewall, you don't even get the taste, so you're most likely going to go elsewhere. Not a smart system for such a smart publication.
