A
$130M restoration of the North Park Armoury in Halifax is about to start. It will take 7 years to complete. This project is interesting because the building is a landmark of national significance and it's not in great shape; for years there have been covered wooden walkways around the building to protect pedestrians from falling masonry.
It was built in 1898. It has a steel frame and at the time was the largest open or column-free indoor space in Canada.
