Since then, the project name has changed from the Hub to the "the Market Octavia Plan Amendment,” which, by way of email, Planning’s Gina Simi said better clarifies the scope of the project. “It’s a more accurate description of the overall work, and we wanted to minimize any confusion or ambiguity for the public.”

The project is moving forward, and the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) is scheduled to be released in July, and Planning anticipates it to be adopted in late 2020. According to Simi, work to prepare the adoption legislation — including planning code amendments, refining the public benefits package, and ongoing public outreach — will continue through the summer and fall.
