Terminal 1.5 opened earlier this year. It adds more baggage claim carousels, ticketing desks, and of course a connection to the future people mover.
The headhouse or "terminal core" is what I wish all of LAX's concourses would look like β tall ceilings, high-quality materials, and lots of natural light. Minimalist and timeless. Since LAX doesn't have the ability to demolish entire terminals like other airports, it's in LAWA's best interest to spend more on evergreen designs that will age well. The only renovations you would need to make are flooring, bathrooms, mechanical, and signage.
