Photo dated 1981. I remember this incarnation. Or was it once called Dave's in the late '70s? I think I have an old
photo of it somewhere...will try to dig it out.

There were a number of White Log Taverns in L.A. in the '30s--not sure how long the chain lasted.

From the 1936 LACD under "WHITE":

I looked to see if perhaps any of the other locations might have somehow survived (I mean, if one is still downtown...), but didn't see any...

Interestingly, the White Log chain was statewide... a snippet from http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/:

"In 1930... Kenneth [Bemis] started a new restaurant chain in California called 'The White Log Taverns,' and just before opening his seventh restaurant in Berkeley, California.... As the chain developed to seventy-two units, within the next seven years, from the West Coast to Washington, D.C.,...."
