You can access
LAPL's photo collection and
LAPL's City Directory collection from outside the state, although I believe other collections/facilities are limited to library card holders.
Here's an enlargement of the 1910 Baist map to show the area we're looking at. The Hotel Heinzeman was at 618 S Grand, with 624 right next door.
