I did, actually, but since you want to continue making a point, i'll continue making my point.

You know why Pittsburgh won last night? And why they were up 4-0? Because Vasilevskiy wasn't making saves and Murray was. Pretty simple. This wasn't an issue of Pittsburgh spanking Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay beat Pittsburgh last night in the following categories:
  • Shots
  • Faceoffs
  • All Situations Corsi
  • All Situations Fenwick
  • All Situations Goals Expected
  • 5v5 Corsi
  • 5v5 Fenwick
  • 5v5 shots
  • 5v5 Goals Expected

Sourcing: http://corsica.hockey/games/?id=2018020776

Which essentially means that if you played the same game over 100 times Tampa would win 65% of the time.

Basically, Vasilevskiy's GSAA (goals saved against average) was -2, meaning that he allowed two more goals than he otherwise was expected to this game. His dSv% was also -10% under his expected save percentage. So, Tampa only lost because Vasilevskiy was a sieve for the first period. That's basically it. Oh, and Murray exceeded expectations.

But maybe you're right and Pittsburgh absolutely, totally, without question dominated Tampa Bay last night. Or...they didn't. We'll never be certain.

tl;dr Pittsburgh didn't spank Tampa - Vasilevskiy played poorly.
