Many of the greatest works of art in history were panned by critics of the day.... and yet, with time, have gone on to be recognized as visionary works ahead of their time and are now considered, "masterpieces".

This building has all the ear markings of being potentially being such a work. Time will tell.

Every skyline should have a few of these visionary works of art and steel mixed in with the typical towers that we so often see. How boring would a skyline be if it only built one thing/one look/one style. As they say, VARIETY is the spice of life. When a skyline is known for only one type of tower only, I believe that is when a skyline losses its zeal/pop/pizzazz/dynamism.

..... and the masterstroke of this tower is that despite the fact that it is clearly one of a kind... it also fits within the 'theme' and general shape/characteristics of the Chicago skyline.

I, for one, like the fact that people come on here to criticize it... while others come on here to praise it. It is... without question... thought provoking. The greatest works of art in history are exactly that - thought provoking.

Love it; hate it -- what an amazing tower!
