FWIW I've been to rooms in both (not recently, mind you) and I didn't find there to be much of a difference at all between the two. The Fairmont has a better restaurant, but beyond that they really aren't that far apart from each other... six of one, half dozen of the other.
Standard rooms in both hotels... can you guess which is which?
