I hear what you are saying, but lets not pretend that 8% isn't massive (and I do not mean the rise from 7% to 8%, but the 8% total). Many firms operate on modest margins - you just do not have a lot of margin to give up before you are in real tough, especially when you have a situation in Ontario where you can get it back, and in Alberta where PST isn't in the equation. I do understand that there are also more factors in play then just PST and the ability to recover it, but it does not do anything for Manitoba's ability to be a competitive business climate.
