I am painfully aware of embedded duct work, the plumbers tell me where to core their holes they missed canning, knowing where they put the kitchen and bathroom vent lines, but mistakes happen.
I didn't core through the duct, I know (feel) when the concrete ends when coring then stop to look at the anomaly and see the undamaged duct down the hole.
