For more than a generation, the construction industry has been promoting trades as a great career and failing miserably.
I was chatting about this with one of our Site Superintendents last week and he commented that the work has never been easier, from a physical point of view. Powered equipment and cordless tools for almost everything - it's not the bull work it once was, yet we still can't get many young people interested in a career as a tradesperson. Even unskilled labour is proving hard to find. I could go on, but don't want to derail this thread.
