The fluting detail is still there, as noted by the strange appearance of dashed lines where the pieces of cladding meet each other (this is a not a result of image quality as they would be smooth continous black lines if the fluting was gone), the lines of the fluting are also the slightest visible when looking very closely. The fluting itself does not spead that far from the point of convergence but for the extreme corner portions where it rises dramatically. It's a very subtle detail.
