It was a little downmarket, as well. With Miracle Mart, in particular right at centre-mall.
I remember it being very dark inside without any skylights and those atrocious brown floor tiles (also used in Place de Ville).
Although the Grade Eight me found something oddly erotic in that fountain sculpture.
When the third level was added, there was a push to make it a fashion destination. There was even a Harry Rosen on the third floor (and I think a companion Harry Rosen Woman boutique).
