Sorry for hearing that the restaurant will close, but I believe that in 20 years, Ft Lauderdale will be a different city, not necessarily bigger than Miami, but a bigger regional city that will complement Miami and South FL. I can also see that island south of downtown Ft Lauderdale being mostly either high-rises and mid-rises in 20 years. Hopefully, Ft Lauderdale and much of Broward County can also have a mass transit system that can complement it's growth.
