we are blessed to live in a city that still has announcements like this, with all the negative economy (recession) talk we hear about on a daily basis. God I love this city.
Austin is MORE diverse (in almost everyway) and more interesting than its ever been in my nearly 40 years living here.

That area, just south of the Drag, is starting to become a solid hotel spot. You've got Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, the Otis, Hotel Ella, ATT Conference Center. Graduate will just add more heat to the area. Not quite as dense as the convention district, but pretty dense nonetheless. I hope over time we start to push some of those fast food joints out along MLK in favor of more walkable restaurant/pub/boutique action.
