One must also consider every city is filling holes in the urban fabric and, most of the time, faster than Edmonton. The scale of development has a lot to do with the current pace. The holes will be filled one day. I probably won't be around to see it. The only hope I have is for investors to gravitate to Edmonton once they have made Calgary ridiculously expensive. It's too early to know if a sustained investor boom will occur in Calgary. They have resurrected the dead condo market in no time.
