It’s the smaller, ground floor shops and restaurants that give New York so much of it’s character. No street is really restricted to a certain individual, for example. Just one reason why ground level retail is required in new developments. Vornado will basically double the amount of retail on 33rd Street than they have there now, including the Manhattan Mall.
