Ah, thanks! I saw the gap but wasn't aware they were taking parts of the old bridge down in large pieces like that and didn't make the connection.
Old steel to be recycled for use in new structures.
(perhaps that may even happen in Hamilton! though there are
steel plants in Montreal)
