Way too late for that.. the hotel is coming down along with the Hotel Penn. At least in this case, they are building an EPIC 1600+ FT tower in its place. The tower replacing the Hotel Penn is GOD AWFUL!!
Underneath that dark glass of the Hyatt is the original exterior of the Commodore Hotel, the first few floors had jack hammers taken to it to remove stone work etc, so the dark glass could be installed flush with the rest of the building.. as the glass comes down during deconstruction.. you'll see the old legend!
Fight the fight for the last remaining grand hotels of it's time.. The Roosevelt Hotel!! There is still a chance to save it and I believe I read hear a few weeks back that it was being bought up to NYC Landmarks for just that!
