Canopy Conflicts Fail To Bust Vancouver Office Building’s Lofty Elegance

In the 18 months since this office building’s rezoning was submitted, we’ve all faced disruptions from significant tragedies to minor annoyances, such as losing one’s kitchen table to paperwork. That this development application’s Urban Design Panel review took place before it was published on the city’s website ranks on the lesser side of that scale. Considering it’s still absent, this event will be tougher to recap, and admittedly my photos aren’t the best quality either, but they’re better than nothing.

As the city’s grainy projector demonstrates, returning to the workplace has its difficulties, yet the predictions about the demise of the central business districts seem overblown in hindsight. I know Hannah has enjoyed seeing her colleagues in-person again, though I can’t imagine a time they ever would have gathered around a company swimming pool. So I wasn’t surprised that feature has been eliminated from this project, even if it wasn’t one of the modifications required by this body’s prior comments.
