Burlington intially tried to redesignate the houses on St. Matthews and Clearview Avenue as well, though that was cancelled after the residents threw a fit. Burlington's problem is that Mayor has long claimed that she thinks that development should happen around the GO stations instead of downtown, but then when it happens around the GO stations the locals are still just as upset.. it's not a good formula.
This is also why we see towers. Everyone doesn't want to see a 5 storey building in their neighbourhood. "Not here, no not here, not here either, no not there, nope not here" so you get towers in the few places the developers can win at LPAT.
