We were looking at a few units downtown recently and both got taken within a day of the landlord telling us about them. Actually one got taken an hour later. Another one in Lakeview was taken within 2 days.
But these are halfway decently priced units. There's a nice building in Lincoln Park who have prices that boggle my mind. They really haven't rented much of anything but their prices only come down like $10 once a week. Totally boggles my mind what they are even thinking.
Then you have the building next to One Chicago who will advertise $3500/mo on their 1 bedrooms but the 13 month and 9 or 10 month terms for the same unit are $2600/mo.
I have many thoughts about what I'm seeing as a new, incoming tenant moving back to Chicago.
