Certain builders in Toronto like Centrecourt move faster by having extended construction days (12 hour shifts instead of 8), and just generally lighting fires under employees asses. They view time as money and make a lot of money because of their ability to turn projects around so quickly.
It’s stressful though and from my experience developers just don’t care to let work dominate their life to the extent needed to make those speeds possible.
Other projects like Jamesville lofts likely have other issues like financing or god knows what. That’s not a normal project.
The only recent projects that have moved at a “normal” pace in Hamilton really have been Vranichs projects (other than the new hotel on king st) and Platinum.
