44E is such a skyline-changer. It might lack the height of 6xG and the uniqueness of the Sail but it's really adding a new peak in the skyline that makes it seem a lot more expansive. It's especially changing views from the SE, where it looks huge. There's a cool bookending effect w/ the Independent.

And thinking about it, we have these other buildings planned all within 3-4 blocks of 44E:
- 98 Red River -- 1030'
- 80 Red River (Ritz?) -- 802'
- 9092 Rainey -- 750-850'-ish
- 84 East -- 455'
- River Street Residences -- 572'
- The Travis 594'
And that's ignoring the Quincy which is almost done, the other couple buildings much less likely to come to fruition, and the couple crappy hotels under construction (or planned) in the area.
If even 50% of this list gets done as-planned, the Rainey area will become wild, and one of the tallest and densest parts of Austin....
