If Hamilton gets a NHL team one day, I'd imagine that Copps would be at most a temporary placeholder venue for a few years. I doubt it was kept up to NHL standards over the years (no real reason to spend that kind of money) so I'm sure there would be a whopping bill to upgrade it to that level...especially considering that it's now pushing 40 years of age.
For its current uses, like junior hockey, lacrosse, major concerts, it seems pretty well suited to those things.
