This is a once-in-a-generation type of project. It has everything going for it: a crazy budget, beautiful site, the will for quality, and grants for environmental features. The DSAI design is seriously a disappointment. I wonder if there was some design by committee going on here. DSAI usually produce restrained and elegant buildings, but this one seemed to have gotten away from them. It is clumsy, nonsensical, busy, a bit too on the nose, and full of clashing ideas. Sad face.
