Unlike many European countries our DRP has no real power. In the Netherlands they can go "no, that's ugly, denied".
In Toronto you have power because people come out in droves against ugly buildings. Hamilton is at this in between where not enough people care or have the energy to fight the city and developers constantly.
Then you have people arguing "it's better than nothing" but like, that's a sad argument.
