^i just went down these stairs today and they're really not that bad for an addition to a blah bridge. the trees, streetlamps and landscaping make it wayyyyy more inviting than it would be otherwise. and for what it's worth, there is an ADA-accessible pedestrian crosswalk (painted lines, very visible signage over the street, etc) across JFK at the top of these stairs, so access to both sides of JFK was at least considered.
