A few years back we had three near supertalls being proposed.

99 Hudson at 95 stories
55 Hudson at 95 stories
Liberty Rising Hotel at 95 stories

It was definitely impressive and Jersey City started to be included in the NYC lists because it was impossible to ignore what was happening across the Hudson. Jersey City was definitely riding the coattails of NYC's economic growth and there is a much more friendly building environment, including a couple sections of the city with no height limit (Journal Square) and unlimited density allowance (808 Pavonia).

Only one of the three was built and 99 Hudson ended up being 76 floors instead of 95. Looking forward to the day that the tallest building outside Manhattan in the NYC metro area is located in Jersey City.
