The operator can only turn on or off the air conditioning - there is no ability to control the temperature except by the mechanics at the garage.
In my opinion, I would be against leaving the A/C off. Furthermore, passengers are
unable to open the windows on the remaining hybrid buses that are still in revenue service (except at the back of the bus) and double decker buses in the 8100 series -- the A/C must be turned on or else the bus will be dangerously hot.
