Calgary’s Airport Trail just started an expansion to become a full expressway connecting Stoney Trail ring highway to Deerfoot Trail (QE2). Some of you may remember the $300 million airport tunnel built under the new runway about 8 years ago, this was basically to facilitate this eventual function. The tunnel will incorporate an eventual grade separated spur of the Blue Line to the airport.
