Rode in a passenger helicopter from the top of what was then known as the Pan Am Building in NYC in 1968 or 69. The flight went to JFK Airport. It cost about $30 at the time. I rode it at night with a group of friends headed back to Texas. It was pretty thrilling to lift off a fifty story building directly on top of Grand Central Station. We took the chopper mostly as a tourist experience. It was an "A" ticket for sure. Some kind of accident happened up there a few years later, and chopper service was moved over to the East River helipad.
