I'd prefer roundabouts way more than traffic lights if the space is there. They still handle congestion well and drivers have to pay attention. The thing I worry about with traffic lights in the domain is drivers seeing green lights and not paying attention to anything or anyone else. It feels like it goes form pedestrian centric to car centric.
