Here's a trick to bestow a "crown" of sorts upon this controversial building; have the vertical columns supporting the segments continue up, above and beyond the weird bricklike final level, and thereupon terminate with a horizontal beam of appropriate thickness, joining them all together as a giant sculptural element.

It's not gonna turn it into a candidate for Miss Skyscraper, but it'll offset the abrupt randomness of the existing "crown".
