I disagree slightly in that I don't think we should be permitting these monuments EVEN IF they're financed and maintained with private funds.

We're putting a multi-billion dollar wager down that we can make a go of Lebreton flats and what does the NCC and the federal government do? They surround it on all sides with their pet vanity projects.

If anything ever does get built at Lebreton, I can just see how much worse it's going to end up being as a result of this rubbish. Nothing says a "fun night out seeing the Sens or at some other performance venue" like the holocaust and victims of communism.
