I don't mind architects recycling basic design ideas if they're good ideas. Reminds me of the
Solow Building and the
Grace Building, both in NYC by the architect Gordon Bunshaft. He was all about that tapering massing.
I think it's kind of neat having two similar buildings in the same city. Sort of like the twin-spire/antenna trend in Chicago.
Now if the new Chase Building is also a wedge design, that will be a little crazy.
