I was in Banff twice this last summer at the beginning and end of a vacation and we couldn't wait to get out. Packed full of people who you know will never get 5 minutes beyond the trailhead, tacky souvenir shops and expensive restaurants. The 2nd time we were there it was about +35 humid and smoke from nearby forest fires which didn't add to the ambience.

If you want to go to a tacky place head to Blackpool, UK. or the ultimate in Americana kitsch, Branson, Missouri
