The PDX does make sense, and with an Encore it is the right aircraft for the job.

I feel like WS isn't sure what to do with the rest of the network. The AUS is random, as is YEG-YYT out of nowhere. I feel like they are just taking stabs at different routes, and seeing which will perform. The summer sched update was their most conservative in years, if not ever. And they didn't announce any route reductions, but I'm sure there were some!
