It's amazing how the rest of the world prioritizes density before transit. So what if traffic grinds to a halt? The motivation to switch to transit will be much higher.

Also, why does density imply high rises? Ever been to Paris or London? You won't see too many buildings more than 6-8 storeys high. And those are some of the densest cities in the developed world. High rises actually suck for building dense and livable communities.
