I'm gonna try this again. Does anybody know whether Travis County plans to issue bonds to build this new court house, or are they planning to negotiate a long term lease with the selected "builder/developer" of the project? The press release only provides vague details about any of this. Supposedly Hunt Develpment Group is charged with "putting up land for the project and providing a building meeting the County’s performance specifications". I am probably reading between the lines here, but it seems possible that the county is going to try to get this new courthouse without issuing any bonds since a long term lease (99 years?) would get the job done with a whole lot less cost up front. Has Travis County provided more specifics about the financial arrangements regarding this project?
