Curious City on WBEZ, Chicago's Japan town was at Clark and Belmont-Addison and had over 150 Japanese owned businesses.. Chicago took in 20,000 relocated Japanese from the west coast internment camps. The Lakeview Japanese neighborhood was vibrant through the 60's and 70's. The population has been assimilated across our region.
