Fresh Permits Filed For 40-Story 18 India Street, Greenpoint Waterfront
Quote:
Following a trail of sparse details and leaked renderings of Greenpoint’s 18 India Street, the waterfront development appears to finally be moving forward. Fresh filings reveal changes to the expected building area and use type.
YIMBY first reported on the project in 2015, when plans called for a 40-story, mixed-use tower spanning more that 650,000 square feet. Today, permits specify a residential-only structure measuring just over 624,000 square feet. The building height remains listed as 40 stories.
Upon completion, filings show a total of 470 apartment units which include an unspecified portion dedicated to affordable housing.
New details also name architect Skidmore Owings & Merrill, who will oversee design. Brooklyn real estate firm Redsky Capital and JZ Capital Partners, a London-based private equity fund, still appear to be in partnership to develop the massive new property.
