I have no problem with this (and I don't care who takes credit either). A "real city" has public spaces.

Just keep it simple -- grass, trees, flower beds or shrubs, with some crisscross pathways and benches. A modest fountain if a signature piece is really desired.

This will be all the more valued as more residential development and redevelopment happens in the north-east quarter of downtown.
