They most certainly are built differently. Check out redstone, Skyview ranch etc. Nearly all straight roads at right angles. limited cul-de-sacs.
When these communities are fully built out, they will be very dense, probably as dense as almost any inner city community outside of the beltline. Skyview is less than 50% single family homes, by area. Redstone will be similar.
