Yeah, it's a really strange decision to me. Other sides of the garage have a glass covering. I don't understand why you'd want 15 stories of a grey mesh metal box facing the creek... It's not the worst on the south wall facing the Proper, but the west wall facing the creek really should have been glass IMO.
Gensler also designed the Google tower, and that has glass covering the whole garage... Maybe it was a cost thing or maybe they wanted a brutalist look.
