New Metro Park planned, south of Forest Grove.
Metro
Quote:
Chehalem Ridge Nature Park
Just 15 minutes from downtown Forest Grove, Metro is restoring a ridgeline with sweeping vistas of the Tualatin River Valley and Coast Range. Soon residents will experience and enjoy this future nature park.
Metro’s Chehalem Ridge is one of the largest publicly owned natural areas in Washington County. Although it’s approximately the same size as beloved Oxbow Regional Park in east Multnomah County, Chehalem Ridge remains largely unknown beyond its rural neighbors, a 15-minute drive south of Forest Grove and Cornelius.
Chehalem Ridge is on the cusp of a new chapter. The communities near Chehalem and around the metro region have helped shape the plan to help it evolve from a hidden jewel into a vibrant nature park where residents can explore on their own, or with friends and family.
